Pre-Approved Zoom-Boom training will be reimbursed now, as well as the Better Supervision Training Course. These were approved for reimbursement as of Oct 22/07.
As of May 1st, 2002 a Supervisors Workshop, training for "The Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace, Alcohol and Drug Guidelines" program was approved to reimburse a maximum of $55.00, less a $10.00 registration fee.
From Aug 04 - July 05, upon successful completion, Carpenters Apprentices will be reimbursed a maximum of $650.00 per level towards their technical training tuition costs. These fees are rising as follows: Aug 05 - July 06 to $775 / 8 weeks, in Aug 06 - July 07 to $900.00 / 8 weeks. The ACTC encourages completion of apprenticeship. This also includes, members who have successfully complete or challenged and passes their apprenticeship levels.
CLR Better Supervision Course - The cost of this course is 100% reimbursable from the Training Fund; minus a $10 registration fee. Members must receive approval from the Alberta Carpenters Training Centre prior to taking this course.
ERIC (Effective Reading in Context) Course - The cost of this course is split on a 50/50 basis between the Employer and the Training Fund. Members must receive approval from the Employer and the Provincial Training Coordinator prior to taking this course.
This list of approved courses will change from time to time. Any member who wishes to take a course not on the list may apply to the Board of Trustees of the Alberta Training and Apprenticeship Competition Trust Fund.
Members who wish to take an approved course must obtain prior approval from the Alberta Carpenter's Training Centre before taking a course.
