The Industrial Technical Training is mandatory for all first year apprentices as of July 1st, 2002. Any 1st year apprentice who became a member of Local 1325 and Local 2103 after July 1st, 2002 will not be dispatched until they complete the Industrial Technical Training.
The Industrial Technical Training gives the new apprentice a basic skill in measurement and layout, blueprint reading, hand tools, portable power tools, material handling, ergonomics, scaffold material, knots & basic rigging, scaffold hand signals, and OH&S Regulations, The apprentices also receive a certificate in Basic First Aid - CPR, Fall Arrest Awareness, H2S Alive, Confined Space Awareness, and the CLR Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace Drug and Alcohol Guidelines.
The Industrial Technical Training will go a long way in securing work for our new apprentices. |
