Basic Rigging Course Consists Of:


·       In class presentation


·       Theory final exam


·       Hands on practical including Rigging hardware inspection, sling capacity and demonstrating hand signals


 


Topics Covered:


·       Legislation & Standards


·       Load weight and calculations


·       Sling angle stresses


·       Centre of gravity


·       Sling hitches and types


·       Below the hook lifting devices


·         Crane communication


 


While this basic course can be used as part of a worker's competency assessment, the employer must designate a worker as a "competent person" based on specific tasks assigned.
