The Alberta Carpenters Training Centre, along with most of the Canadian District, will be implementing the Canadian Scaffold Program Curriculum in January 2023. This will be implemented at all of our Training Centres in Alberta. The Canadian Scaffold Program includes 4 Levels of Training. The goal is to have consistent Scaffold Training across Canada.
Chart of Apprenticeship:
Scaffold Status | Training Required | Hours Required | Anniversary | Progress |
---|---|---|---|---|
1st Year Scaffolder | Scaffold Program Level 1 | 1500 Hours | 1 Year | to progress to 2nd Year |
2nd Year Scaffolder | Scaffold Program Level 2 | 1500 Hours | 2 Years | to progress to 3rd Year |
3rd Year Scaffolder | Scaffold Program Level 3 | 1500 Hours | 3 Years | to progress to 4th Year |
4th Year Scaffolder | Scaffold Program Level 4 | 1500 Hours | 4 Years | to progress to JM |
All members who have not completed the old Scaffolding Level Three by January 2023 will be introduced to the new curriculum and will be required to attend the Scaffold Program Level 4 in order to complete their apprenticeship. Members who have already completed their Scaffolding Level Three by January 2023 will not be affected by this change.
Due to the current economy and fewer man-hours received, the Board of Trustees of the Alberta Carpenters Training Fund has revised the registration fee policy to reflect the following:
Course Duration | Registration Fee |
1 Day to 3 Days | $25.00 |
4+ Days | $50.00 |
Please note that all members must receive prior approval from the Alberta Carpenters Training Centre to be eligible for reimbursement. Upon approval and acceptance into a class, members will be required to pay the corresponding registration fees on the first day of the class.
If you have questions about a specific Course Registration Fee or any fees that may be associated with that course, feel free to contact the training centre at 780-455-6532 or 1-877-455-6532
