The Online ESC Confined Space Entry and Monitor course is availible but not recommended. The Online version is not accepted at all worksites. If you take the online version and are required to do the in-class version within 3 years, you will have to pay for the in-class course on your own without reimbursement. This course is offered online (WITH ACTC APPROVAL ONLY) or in classroom through the Energy Safety Canada Authorized Training Provider (ATP) network. This training teaches participants to identify, understand and mitigate the potential hazards of working in restricted and confined spaces. Developed using the Canadian Standards Association’s Z1006-16 Management of Work in Confined Spaces and the Canadian Association of Oil and Gas Producers’ Code of Practice for Confined Space.
While this basic course can be used as part of a worker's competency assessment, the employer must designate a worker as a "competent person" based on specific tasks assigned.
